You may have heard our plans to run an EJC bus, direct from Ireland's main airports to the convention site. Before we make these tickets available, we would like to get some information from you on when to run these busses. As such, we would be delighted if you could take 5 minutes to complete our survey.
Millstreet is a small town in beautiful rural Ireland. It is located in Co. Cork in the south of the country, about a three hour drive from Dublin.
Without your own transport it takes around five hours to get from the airport to the convention site, and requires a 15 minute walk from the train station to the convention site.
This year however, the organisers of the European Juggling Convention have rented a number of busses, to bring people directly from Dublin Airport and Cork Airport straight to the convention centre.
We are working with a number of providers to make the cost as low as possible, but are hoping to offer return bus tickets from Dublin Airport to Millstreet Green Glens Arena (the convention site) for around half the price it would usually cost. (We expect the price to be €35 per person for a return trip). The time it takes will also be reduced from around five hours or six hours to about three (including a smoke / coffee / juggle break halfway).
Tickets will be available through www.ejc2014.org and you can purchase them at any stage before the event, once you have your flights booked. We will schedule a number of busses at different times around the start of the event, and where there is demand we will organise additional busses. To plan this, we would ask you to complete this short survey, so that we can plan the right number of busses at the right times.
Please note the times of busses will be published online shortly, once we have enough responses to out survey.
So for about half the price, almost half the time, and in the company of a bus full of jugglers, you can travel from outside airport arrivals – direct - to the registration queue at ECJ 2014. You will be met in the arrivals lounge by one of our EJC volunteers, who will both round up everyone for the bus, as well as making sure that the Irish craic starts even before you arrive in Millstreet. We will also be making busses available if you are travelling in from Cork Airport.
Update on ferry journeys:
If you are travelling by ferry, we are currently working on a reduced price for those travelling to the EJC. We are working hard to make sure we get the best discount available. Please check back here for a promotional code, which you can use when booking ferry journeys online.
