Getting to Millstreet: From Cork Airport

Getting to Millstreet from Cork AirportCork airport lies to the south west of the city of Cork and is approximately 60 km (37 miles) from Millstreet.  To get from Cork airport to the site by public transport, you will need to get a bus (number 226) from Cork airport to Cork city centre, then either a bus or a train to Millstreet.  If you get the bus all the way to the site (Bus Éireann: use the travel planner – this gives more choice than the online ticket purchase option) then you make your connection within Cork Bus Station (otherwise stay on the 226 bus to Cork Kent Train Station).

Getting to Millstreet: From Dublin city centre

Trains in IrelandThe most convenient route, if traveling by public transport, is to travel by train from Dublin’s Heuston station.  This is accessible by tram (the Red Line Luas) or by local city bus.  You can pre-book your train tickets from Irish Rail.

There are very few direct trains from Dublin to Millstreet, most will be the Dublin – Cork train service with a change in Mallow where you will catch the train towards Tralee (this also serves Killarney).  We strongly advise that you book your train trip before arrival in Ireland to ensure that you have a seat!

Getting to Millstreet: From Shannon Airport

Getting to Millstreet from Shannon AirportShannon airport lies to the north west of the city of Limerick and is approximately 120 km (75 miles) from Millstreet.  However, there is no easy transport connections to Millstreet, and you should expect that the journey will take 5 hours by bus! Plan your journey using the Bus Éireann journey planner.

Also consider getting the bus to Mallow and then catching the train from there.  There is a direct bus from Shannon airport towards Cork (bus number 51) that stops in Mallow.  Once there, do some grocery shopping and then make the onward connection by train to Millstreet.  You may opt to get to Limerick city and then make your way by train from there, but this will increase the number of connections that you will need to make!
